United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Russia represents the interests of American agriculture and agribusiness in Russia, Belarus, Armenia and Kazakhstan. Activities of the office include market research and analysis, market development, and market access.
As an office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture abroad it serves as the "eyes and ears" of the United States Secretary of Agriculture and is the Secretary's formal liaison with the Ministers of Agriculture in all four countries.
USDA programs in the three countries of responsibility include food aid, export credits, technical assistance, technical exchanges, and scientific cooperation.
FAS is the enquiry point for World Trade Organization (WTO) sanitary and phytosanitary issues and technical barriers to trade.
